The dawn of a new era

While we were away we read a lot. We read so much that we ran out of books. We read so much that Nat read my cycling magazines and books...... Cycling is an addictive sport.

On Monday night we decided the time had come for Nat to give it a bash. Three days, four bike shops, a session on Ebay and a drive to Kogorah later she looked like this.

The first ride was just a tester to make sure she could get in and out of the cleats, change gears and stay upright. I was halfway through my explanation of how to get out of the cleats when Nat's patience ran out. Off she went, clip clip, all very exciting, slowing down, trying to stop, BAM. She did get one foot out but unfortunately it was the wrong one. Once the tears had subsided we tried again, this time more successfully. Everything else went off without a hitch. She performed way above my expectations especially on the hills and after a day of recovery she is ready to give it another bash. I'm sure it wont be long before she is leaving me for dead on the hills.

Calling all proactive self starters!!

I'm toying with the idea of heading off in a new direction work wise and as a result I have just spent the better part of the morning looking at seek. Can I just say I HATE job ads. This is one example of the meaningless buzz word filled crap that I have been sifting through.

"which means you need to be a focused, proactive self-starter, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment"

please recruitment people, a little originality.
